Health Safety Environment and Quality
Health and Safety is never compromised. We are committed to maintain the highest level of health and safety at all times and this is part of the company Ethos, lead by the Board but the responsibility of all. We work with our clients, the industry and trade associations to continuously improve our processes and performance and are committed to no tolerance and achieving “No Harm”.

In order to support our No Harm approach an integrated management system is in place. The system as a minimum complies with the internationally recognised standards BS OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety), ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment). The System also facilitates our need to drive our business goals and ensure we remain focused on continuous improvement at all levels and at all stages of our operations.

The Company is continuously moving forward from traditional “compliance” and seeks new, innovative and robust ways of improving standards of safety, occupational health and the well being of our employees. Our SHEQ management team uses various techniques such as Behavioural Safety that encourages and empowers people to make better health & safety choices and take ownership of their behaviours as well as Process Safety Analysis and Hazard Perception all designed to maintain our position as a leader in terms of heath and safety.

In order to support the diverse range of services the Company provides a 24 hours, 7 days a week, SHEQ service. Our approach is very much proactive rather than reactive, working with the site teams to identify problems before they arise we provide internally much of the required training such as IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH Working Safely to EUSR SHEA Power, Water and Telecoms, First Aid, Manual Handling and Abrasive Wheels in house.

Sustainability
Instalcom and our customers recognise the need that we ensure we create a better quality of life now and in the future in everything we plan and do.  This means progressing economic and social development while moving quickly to live within resource limits and allowing the ecosystem to recover. The three areas of focus being the three P’s: People, Planet and Profit, or the "three pillars of sustainability".

In addition to considering the environmental impact of design, recycling initiatives and engaging with the communities we work in the company works with industry and trade associations to share in best practice and benchmark performance. The “Supply Chain Sustainability School” is an example of an industry initiative and our commitment which is reflected in our current ‘Silver’ membership level.

Instalcom are also accreditated to the ‘CEMARS’ standard or ‘Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme’. The scheme commits the company to monitoring our carbon emissions with a goal to reduce total emissions by 10% over 5 years. Progress against this target is independently audited by Achilles.

Instalcom holds accreditations to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, NERS, WIRS, Achilles RISQS, Achilles UVDB, CEMARS and is a regular winner of the ROSPA Gold Award for Safety performance.
